Questions
Common questions.
Including the awkward ones — what you can't do with a static site, and
what happens if we part ways. Anything else, ask: straight answers,
same day.
Will it work on mobile?
Yes. Every site is built mobile-first — it will look right on phones, tablets, and desktops. Most of your visitors will arrive on a phone, so that's where the design starts.
Do I need a domain already?
No. If you don't have one, I'll register it and set everything up from scratch as an add-on. If you do, I'll point it at your new site — GoDaddy, Namecheap, 123-reg, anywhere. Domains and DNS are home turf for me. DNS & domain setup — the standalone service →
Can I update the content myself?
Honest answer: not without editing HTML files. This is a static site, not a CMS — that's exactly why it's fast and free to host. If you'll want to change content every week, this isn't the right product and I'll tell you so before you pay. For most starter sites the content rarely changes, and a quick update request to me is the simplest route.
What if I want more pages later?
Additional simple static pages — about, services list, gallery — are £100 each, whenever you're ready. No need to decide up front.
What happens to the site if I stop working with you?
Nothing. It keeps running. The hosting is free from Cloudflare regardless of whether you and I ever speak again, and the files are yours. I don't hold anything hostage — that's the whole point of building it this way.
Is the contact form really free to run?
Yes. Submissions are handled by a free form service with a generous allowance — more than most starter sites will ever generate — and spam is blocked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which is also free. No hidden running costs.
What if I'm not happy with the first version?
Your tier includes revision rounds — two on Starter, three on Standard and above. Tell me specifically what you want changed and I'll change it. The preview link exists so nothing goes live until you're happy.
How is this different from hiring someone on Fiverr?
You know exactly who you're working with before any money changes hands — a UK-based senior developer you can email or call directly. No gig lottery, no disappearing act after delivery. If something needs attention six months on, I'm reachable.
What if I need something bigger than a starter site?
Then this isn't the right product, and that's fine — e-commerce, booking systems, web apps, and larger custom builds are my main line of work under a separate service. Tell me what you're planning and I'll point you the right way. Custom web development →
